Brand checker - An easy to use tool

The Brand Checker carries out tens of thousands of checks on PowerPoint presentations within seconds: every brand rule, every slide, every object, every word; all checked with a single click. In addition, it alerts the users to common risk-management issues, for example: unseen meta data, comments, speaker notes etc.

The Brand Checker is designed for companies who wish to help their people stay on brand. It works directly within PowerPoint, acting as an interactive guideline that checks, instructs and corrects, based on your own brand rules. The Brand Checker scans the presentation and looks for brand or risk-management issues. It then gives either a summary of the issues found or a tick. In a typical 30 to 40 slide presentation, it would perform typically 40,000 to 60,000 individual checks.


 

 The Brand Checker carries out tens of thousands of checks on PowerPoint presentations within seconds: every brand rule, every slide, every object, every word; all checked with a single click.

The Auto-fix screen displays a list of the problems found within the presentation that can be automatically fixed by the Brand Checker. The user simply selects the items they wish to fix and then clicks the 'Fix' button. The Brand Checker then scans though the complete presentation and fixes all of the issues within a few seconds.


 

The Brand Checker is designed for companies who wish to help their people stay on brand. 

The More Info screen is intended for users, who may require a greater level of detail about the presentation and/or the issues found. The More Info screen displays a detailed report about the presentation and the checks carried out by the Brand Checker.  By double-clicking on a line of text within the More Info box that describes an issue, the Brand Checker will go to the problem slide and displays the problem element

Client case study - PricewaterhouseCoopers one of the world’s Big 5 Accountancy firms 

 

This tool was commissioned by the PwC brand team based in New York and then deployed to all PwC's 130,000 people in 157 countries. Since then, it has worked as the default system used by PwC worldwide for creating and checking presentations and reports. The PwC Brand Checker is programmed with all the PwC brand rules and a host of risk management issues. 

The user simply clicks the ‘Check’ button and the whole presentation -
slide-by-slide, object-by-object, word-by-word - is scanned to detect if any slide is even slightly off-brand and then automatically corrected with a click of a button.

The beauty of this is that
it only takes a matter of seconds. For example, if the Brand Checker was run on a standard PwC document containing 30 to 40 slides, it would perform over 60,000 checks. On a mid-range PC, these checks would only take 20 to 45 seconds.
