BT (British Telecoms) BT, the world’s oldest telecommunications company and now the world's leading Networked IT Services business, commissioned a WizKit for its global sales force to ensure a consistent brand image throughout sales presentations. The WizKit provides the sales force with an easy and efficient way to create presentations that includes the latest BT brand elements and product offerings. In addition, it seamlessly combines standard PowerPoint slides with custom-built multimedia elements, to create an even more dynamic presentation package.
The menu contains the basic elements - templates, charts, diagrams, image libraries, guidelines, etc, plus a wide range of presentations, covering all aspects of BT’s product offerings and services - in all, over 10,500 slides, and dozens of videos and animations. It is produced in 5 languages, and automatically updates itself from anywhere in the world, using the WizKit Online Updater via a dedicated web server.
The WizKit’s implementation by the Global Services division was such a success that within its first month, both of the other two major divisions, “Major Business” and “Retail”, adopted it. Further more, the BT team who commissioned the WizKit won the ‘Andy Green’s - CEO BT’ Award for Excellence for the best marketing innovation of 2004.
Orange Orange was launched in 1994 and has been at the forefront of innovation in the mobile world ever since, becoming the UK's leading operator as well as a leading international force, operating in 18 countries with 50 million customers worldwide. As
part of
The first part of the job entailed simplifying the complex brand guidelines by adapting the brand identity for use in PPT. The templates and sample materials created applied the brand elements in a simple and intuitive manner, thus allowing the end user to easily create PPT presentations that reflected the distinctive typographic styles of Orange’s print literature without having to read or refer to brand identity guidelines.
Interbrand Interbrand is the world’s largest branding agency and has been responsible for creating some of the world’s best-known brands. Interbrand recognized that massive amounts of time were being wasted when it came to sourcing information and building and re-building presentations over and over again. They were also neglecting to nurture their own brand identity. It was then decided it was time to focus on their own communications and they awarded priority status to presentations and proposals.
A WizKit was developed containing all the relevant company information and templates for a variety of uses built to reflect and enhance the brand. The WizKit was developed for both Microsoft Word and PowerPoint and designed to run on Apple Macintosh and Windows alike. By programming the WizKit to automatically update the user files every two weeks, the marketing departments were easily able to update the master set of corporate communications such as company credentials, case studies, image libraries, chart and map libraries.
PricewaterhouseCoopers In 1998, when Price Waterhouse and Coopers and Lybrand merged, they created PricewaterhouseCoopers - a global organisation of 130,000 people with offices in 157 countries. Drawing together this huge number of people and paving the way for a common direction for the new professional services firm required a vehicle - an aspiring and cohesive brand. A task force, called the ‘brand team’ was set up within PwC to manage the development of the brand and ensure it was correctly portrayed across the whole organisation.
This task force identified potential ‘weak-spots’ and agreed that they needed some ‘fail-safe’ solutions to help manage the brand identity in those areas. Presentations became a high priority area, as everyday people from all over the world were putting together their own presentations.
This meant every day people were wasting time reinventing the wheel and at the same time diluting the strength of the brand identity. The ‘Wizkit’ created for PricewaterhouseCoopers enabled every employee to create a PowerPoint presentation complete with the company logotype, symbol, colours, fonts, imagery, charts and credentials - all within minutes. What’s more, it was available in a variety of sizes - to ensure every possible need was met.
Since its inception nearly 10 years ago, their WizKit has been updated a number of times to reflect the evolving PwC brand. We have recently created a new generation of the WizKit presentation system for PwC, complete with a suite of new tools allowing the user to quickly apply the PwC brand to their presentation and a fully automatic 'Brand-Checker' which allows the user with a single click to check if their presentation is on-brand and, if not, to correct it. The ‘brand team’ said, 'This has been our most successful and well received internal project’. They were also commended by the Board for creating a tool that truly made peoples' working lives easier and gave a consistent application of the brand.
